Visit one the world’s most impressive public plazas and stand at the center of Beijing before entering the Forbidden City to explore the halls and gardens of this glorious structure. Once in Chongqing stop by Goose Neck Park, beneath Erling Mountain to the west of Chongqing City, offering grand views of the Yangtze River. Enjoy a shore excursion of Fengdu (Optional, pay it locally) - the city of Ghosts on the Ming Hill. Today, visit the city of Fengdu, situated on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, which, throughout 2000 years of legend became known as a "ghost city" and is today popular among tourists who come to visit the temples and shrines dedicated to the gods of the underworld. Fengdu, known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill, was first described as a 'City of Ghosts' in two ancient, classic Chinese works-"Monkey King" and "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio". In keeping with the town's theme, landmarks bear thematic names such as Last Glance at Home Tower, Nothing-to-be-done Bridge, and Ghost Torturing Pass. In the afternoon, take a visit to Shibaozhai. Shibaozhai, means Stone Treasure Fortress, Located in ZhongCounty, at the south bank of the Yangtze River, 278 km away from Chongqing, it was first built in Qing Dynasty in 1750. The wooden architecture stands on the riverside. It is built by catch upon a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs with a height of 56 meters and 12 stories. Every floor of the wooden structure contains interesting artifacts. Each of the 12 floors of Shibaozhai is dedicated to a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period (220-265AD), a local scholar or a renowned Chinese poet. While enjoying breakfast, pass through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Proceed on an excursion of the Shengnong Brook. The magnificent Qutang Gorge extends 8 Km and leads to the splendor of Wu Gorge. The ship will sail into the west section of the Third Gorges of the Yangtze River. Also pass through the Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Yangtze gorges, after which the ship passes through the 5 stage ship lock. Enjoy a Chinese lunch and dinner on board the cruise.
