A glorious trip to the Canal
Panama, the transcontinental nation connecting North and South America, is best known for the Panama Canal. However, Panama has much more to offer to the visitor, such as dense rainforests with abundant wildlife, pristine offshore islands on its two coasts, pre-Columbian Indian communities which have scarcely been affected by modern times, rich culture and fabulous duty-free shopping.Explore this country bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, between Colombia and Costa Rica, and which has a strong and thriving economy. Meet the Panamanians, the majority of whom are mixed Amerindian, African and Spanish descent.

"The trip was awesome! Your planning and hard work made it a great trip. The local tour group Panama Trails were great, always on time, helpful. We did a lot! We need a vacation from our vacation. Yampu has adventure traveling mastered. I will definitely use you guys again. Even though we did see a lot of Panama. I'm not sure I would do so much domestic flying. Transportation back and forth to domestic airports( during Panama city rush hour), waiting for weather to clear, or flight crew to arrive, ate up a bit of time. Flying to San Blas was an adventure in itself, with the unscheduled stops and "airports" that are not labeled. We did find Playa Chicon and Yandup. The Guna family at Yandup were incredible. Thank you for planning an incredible trip."

"I am a very experienced traveler - I never use a 'travel agent'. In general I will explore the area I'm traveling to and just go. Maybe just maybe I book the first night. However, on this trip I'm taking my children and it was short and last minute and although frankly it isn't even that exotic (vs Borneo, Cuba, Russia, the Amazon), somehow I found Yampu. I didn't realize they were more than just a booking agency at first, and I started to talk to Wendy. It was clear from our first conversation they were really knowledgeable and had a great style to accommodate even a difficult independent traveler like me. She spent a ton of time with me. Brought up activities and the pro's and cons of activities, timing, everything that I had not found myself and didn't find in any of the usual exploration tools like TripAdvisor, other big agencies like liberty or apple, Frommers or even Lonely Planet (my favorite). She added great great value! shocking to me actually. So in short she and Yampu are an amazing place to make your trip better vs any alternative I have found. "

"Our trip to Panama was seriously a great trip and I saw everything I wanted. We saw a bunch of kinkajous and cacomistles that came to our cabin at los quetzales. That place is magical, the bird life alone (we saw 6 quetzels, one even right outside our cabin) makes it worth a trip. Families would love these cabins and hands down the place had the best food in Panama. Everything was made fresh and they had a huge organic garden with all kinds of vegetables, great for someone like me that does not eat meat."

"Yampu Tours is truly an agency that put the needs of its clients first. I have had two occasions to use them to book travel plans for my family and me and both times the trips and excursions were flawless. The second trip required some additional help involving the agency doing some research and follow-up for us. Without their help, we probably would not have been able to complete the second trip. They worked without hesitation to secure for us all the information we needed. The excursions they planned for my family were exactly what they requested and all trips went on without a hitch. It is not often that one can travel to a foreign country and know that everything is taken care of and one can travel stress free. Yampu Tours offers that type of service; professional and exceptional."

"I want to thank you again for everything you did for my mother and daughter. They enjoyed a wonderful trip and everything went very smoothly. They loved the hotel and said the excursions were exceptional, with the guides giving them first class service. In fact, my Mother is considering moving down there. While she said it has changed so much, she really did enjoy herself so much and loved the country and what has been done to improve it. And without your finishing touches and tour plans the way you took into consideration her age and their needs, I doubt she would feel like moving back. I will definitely recommend your agency to anyone I know taking a trip oversees. Thanks again for everything. "

" I have had another fantastic trip and am glad I chose to spend the whole 2 weeks in Panama rather than combine with another country as there is so much to see and do there. It is difficult to pick out the high points: the canal crossing was an ambition fulfilled; I had been a little apprehensive about San Blas but for no reason the cabins over the sea were amazing, Boquete was cool and the bird life wonderful. Tranquilo Bay in Bocas was exactly the right choice for me. The whole team was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable; they made my stay a real treat. I have so many photos I shall spend the next weeks sorting them! I didn't get to see much of the Carnival but was treated to two firework displays from the view from my hotel window each night I am a big fireworks fan. I think this is the 6th trip I have taken with Yampu/Kontiki and so far they have all been wonderful. Thanks for organizing this one for me."
