Tour Overview
The culinary trifecta of South East Asia tour will have gourmands go weak at the knees when hearing mention of visiting Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bali. Three places whose cuisines are defined more by the national dishes of other countries than their own, to dine in here is an unequaled experience. Venturing beyond the cities themselves is where you will discover traditional Malay and Indonesian culture.
As with most country capitals, it is an absolute must to experience Kuala Lumpur’s eating, shopping and nightlife on any trip to the city. On this tour, enjoy an orientation to the city that will leave you in awe as you stroll past old world architectural splendors that stand among the ultra modern high rises. Not only will you visit the many classy museums and monuments, but you will get a bit more culture strolling through the Chinese bazaar and experiencing the fine Malay cuisine. A brief trip outside of the city will also bring you to some other cultural highlights of interest, including the mystical shrine at the Batu Caves.
From Kuala Lumpur, the drive alone will prove to be spectacular, as you climb the windy mountain roads and visit some gorgeous waterfalls along the way. Once in the highlands, you’ll have several opportunities to explore the local tea farms, sample the brews, take in the views and explore some of the jungle trails. After your time here, a drive to nearby Penang Island is in order, where you will have a final day to either tour some of the sites in the lovely Georgetown, or visit some of the local spice gardens and a butterfly farm.
In Singapore one thing that you must not miss is the multitudinous offering of food that will leave you spoilt for choice – from Peranakan to Chinese, Malay to Indian, fusion and more. Singapore is a city where the diverse mix of people live and thrive alongside each other. It is a place where differences are encouraged, embraced and celebrated from all who lives there. In recent years, Singapore has played host to major international meetings, conventions, exhibitions, events, concerts and entertainments and have been an attraction for visitors from many countries. There are more facets to Singapore than just history, culture, people, shopping and food for you to discover.
In Tana Toraja, take a soft trek around the villages to view the unique architecture, the daily life of the indigenous people, and perhaps one of their lavish burial ceremonies. Also visit the extraordinary grave sites of Lemo, Suaya, Sangala, Londa, and Marante. On Bali, take a short journey to Pura Kehen, a temple constructed in the 13th century. The temple courtyard is decorated with elephant statues, which is intriguing for a structure built in this time period, as elephants were not native to Indonesia. The inner compound is guarded by a ‘Naga,’ or dragon, that is said to have a mystical stone imbedded in the stone. From here you will travel to Kintamani to have lunch overlooking volcanic Mount Batur, and Lake Batur in its crater.
You will get a taste of Balinese cuisine and culture by being served a traditional breakfast at a local home. Continue your tasting of the island with a cooking class and trip to the market, or take a cruise to one of Bali’s sister islands to take in some of Bali’s beautiful beaches, pristine waters, and stunning coral reefs.

All in all, this was a great trip
All in all, this was a great trip. I am reminded of something I read in a travel book some years ago which said Here’s what I love about travel; strangers get a chance to amaze you. In Myanmar, I found myself constantly amazed. I would love to go back and pick up the areas of the country that I missed on this trip and spend more time in the sites that I found to be particularly interesting and which required more time than I had on this trip to do them justice. I think things will begin to change rapidly in Myanmar now that liberalization has begun. I appreciate all the work Yampu staff put into developing this custom itinerary for me, and I wish all of you great success in building your business in Myanmar.

It was great, we had a good time.
It was great, we had a good time. Vietnam and Cambodia are beautiful countries: people here were friendly, the food was excellent and the places we toured were amazing. Cuchi Tunnel in Vietnam was eye opening to see how these people lived underground during the war. In Cambodia the Angkor Archaeological Park is an amazing site to see, especially Angkor Wat temple is an architectural masterpiece. Thanks to you and your staff we had a great vacation; hotels, tour guides, flight schedules were all excellent. I have attached two pictures of our vacation. Once again thank you!

Thank you for making our stay fun and memorable!
We had a wonderful trip! Yampu was wonderful in giving us different options to make our trip more customized to suit our needs. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and helped make our stay in Singapore fun and effortless. We all enjoyed the itinerary- not too packed with activities and everyone enjoyed the gardens, the animal safari, and city tour. The bus and vans we rode in were comfortable and the air conditioner was much welcomed in the tropic heat!
