Tour Overview

Starting in the cities of Kuala Lumpur and Singapore you’ll have the opportunity to sight-see, eat and shop in places where neighboring blocks can sometimes seem like they occupy separate centuries. From the colonial, traditional and modern mash-ups of Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, you’ll journey to Malaysian Borneo for a stay in a luxury resort in the Batang Ai rainforest. Next, travel to Bali for another cultural crossroads experience and then end up on the indescribable beaches of Gili Trawangan where you can dive around the coral reef, eat fresh seafood next to the water, party after dark or just lay out on the beach.

One thing that you must not miss in Singapore, is the multitudinous offering of food that will leave you spoilt for choice – from Peranakan to Chinese, Malay to Indian, fusion and more. Singapore is a city where the diverse mix of people live and thrive alongside each other. It is a place where differences are encouraged, embraced and celebrated from all who lives there. In recent years, Singapore has played host to major international meetings, conventions, exhibitions, events, concerts and entertainments and have been an attraction for visitors from many countries. There are more facets to Singapore than just history, culture, people, shopping and food for you to discover.

This tour of Batang Ai starts and finishes in Kuching, the largest city in Malaysian Borneo. Considered one of the cleanest cities in South-East Asia, Kuching is peaceful, relaxed, and feels much more like a small town. Stroll the picturesque waterfront, explore the open air markets, or visit one of the small, free museums. From Kuching you will travel by car and boat to reach the luxurious Hilton Batang Longhouse Resort. While at the resort you will have ample time to relax, enjoying the natural jungle scenery surrounding the resort. You will also explore the river on a long boat, and visit the Orangutan Center.

Starting with a morning tour of the city’s architectural and cultural highlights, you’ll witness the progression of transformation over the course of Kuala Lumpur’s history. Working your way through the early architecture of Malay royalty to the splendor of British colonial buildings, you’ll witness the confluence of interests that created the unexpected beauty of modern Kuala Lumpur’s concrete and glass skyline.

You will get a taste of Balinese cuisine and culture by being served a traditional breakfast at a local home, before journeying to the ancient temple of Pura Kehen. Built in the 13th century, this temple is surrounded by mystery and mysticism. From its unusual elephant sculpture to a mystical stone embedded in a dragon. Continue your tasting of the island with a cooking class and trip to the market, or take a cruise to one of Bali’s sister islands to take in some of Bali’s beautiful beaches, pristine waters, and gorgeous coral reefs.

A morning boat ride from Bali transports you to the island of Gili Trawangan where you’ll enjoy a full day at your leisure. Though the white sand beaches and bathtub warm waters may hold your attention for much longer than expected, there are numerous well-respected dive shops in the area that are ready to assist you in exploring the gorgeous Gili Reef. If you work up an appetite in the water, there are many small eateries near the beach serving grilled fish and sashimi to those looking for an ocean-side meal. After the sun sets, venture a little further inland to experience the world-renowned nightlife of Gili Trawangan before heading to Lombok island the next morning. After experiencing another round of incredible beaches and glassine waters, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a few rural Lombok villages. These outposts of traditional Lombok living boast craftsmen whose buildings and methods remain unchanged from pre-colonial culture.

Today embark on Sasak Traditional Tour. Visit the interesting town of Banyumulek, where there are many small pottery businesses making traditional clay pots for everyday use. These stunning fabrics also have gold and silver thread running through them, and are woven strand by strand in intricate patterns and designs.
One of the most interesting stops on the tour is at Rambitan, a traditional Sasak village, where the houses (Bale Balaq) and rice storage barns (Alang-Alang) are still made from wood, bamboo thatching and cow dung.
