There are so many unique excursions offering new perspective from a bird’s eye view. Yampu Tours offers numerous tours that take you up in the sky. We wanted to share some of those with you here.
Antarctica
Instead of braving the white-knuckle trip crossing of the Drake Passage from Argentina to King George Island, which takes a few days, skip the crossing and fly instead. Yampu offers the unique opportunity to cruise above Antarctica. With several daily landings and cruises, explore King George Island in the South Shetland Archipelago before heading to the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. Your journey southward includes visits to magnificent locations including Livingston Island, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, and Deception Islands.

Helicopter over Victoria Falls
At Victoria Falls, also known as “Mosi oa-Tunya” (the smoke that thunders), the Zambezi River plunges headlong into a 100 m (328 ft) vertical chasm spanning the full one-and-a-half kilometer (~1mile) width of the river. The impressive Victoria Falls is the biggest curtain of falling water in the world and also one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Hot Air Ballooning in the Masai Mara
The adventure begins just before dawn as flames from the hot air balloon burners light the darkness as the crews inflate their craft. The first, pink tongues of sunlight flicker across the skies as the hot air balloon fills, then rises. Suspended in a basket beneath the rainbow-coloured canopy, you’re off for a wildlife viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. What amazes most first-time balloonists is the absolute stillness: the silence as you float above the plains, the forest and the rivers of the Masai Mara.
Even if you’ve flown elsewhere, this is a unique experience.
This Kenyan Hot Air Balloon Safari drifts wherever the air currents take you, and gives ample opportunities for photography and video filming. Finish with a flourish in the time honoured tradition of balloon flights the world over, by toasting your return to earth with a champagne breakfast, cooked wherever you land.

Belize – Ambergris Caye
Flying over Ambergris Caye in Belize and Braulio Carrillo National Park in Costa Rica both provide scenic breathtaking options to traveling on poorly maintained roads. We often suggest that clients take a car transfer one way and a flight the other to take in the magnificent views. Ambergris Caye is the largest island of Belize. It’s located northeast of the country in the Caribbean Sea. The best part of this island is the fact that it hasn’t been modified by man. It is mostly a ring of white sand beach that surrounds a mangrove swamp. The main attractions are the beaches and the Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest worldwide. Snorkeling and diving are highlights to exploring this beautiful corner of the world.

Costa Rica’s National Parks
Dense rainforest, tumbling waterfalls, towering volcanoes and rushing rivers fill the landscape of Costa Rica’s second-largest national park, Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Braulio Carrillo’s diversity of life is owed to its varying geography — from humid, lowland jungles just 160 feet above sea level to chilly cloud forest at an altitude of 9,535 feet.
Tortuguero is one of the wilderness areas with the greatest biological variety in the country. Monkeys, anurans, birds and fish are especially numerous. Tortuguero (which means Turtle in Spanish) is the most important nesting site in the western half of the Caribbean for the endangered green turtle.

Ballooning over Bagan in Myanmar
Take the unique opportunity to see one of the most remarkable sites in Asia, as you drift over the enchanting landscape dotted with ancient temples. The magic of Bagan has inspired visitors for many centuries and Marco Polo once described it as ‘one of the finest sights in the world’. Riding in a hot air balloon allows you a spectacular vantage point of this celebrated landscape. A portion from each flight is donated to community programs that benefit the local population. Drift over a panorama of ancient pagodas scattered below. These fabulous spires begin to glow with the dawn and then blaze with vibrant color as the sun rises over the far horizon. See long lines of red-robed monks weaving through the streets collecting early morning alms and children delighted at the sight of a hot air balloon waving up at you.
