Tour Overview

This Ultimate Panama Vacation will take you to the best sights around Panama. First you will visit the Panama Rain Forest Discovery Center along the famous Pipeline Road where there is incredible birding opportunities. From here you will see the Gatun Locks and the Panama Canal Expansion as well as visit the historic Portobelo. Afterwards you will tour Anton Valley and it’s highlights before flying to San Blas for your excursions at Yandup Island Lodge. The trip will end on the beach in the beautiful lush rain forest of Boca del Toro.

Inclusions
Prices include round trip domestic airfare for Panama to San Blas, and Panama City to Bocas del Toro, hotel accommodation with daily continental breakfast, two nights accommodations at Yandup Island Lodge as well as round trip shared transfers from San Blas airport to the lodge, meals and daily guided tours while at Yandup Island Lodge. Pricing also includes three nights accommodation in Bocas del Toro hotels. Depending upon which hotel you choose this could mean half board at Punta Caracol which includes breakfast, dinner and use of snorkel gear and kayaks, for Laguna Azul, Tranquilo Bay and Popa Paradise which are all inclusive/full board properties all meals and daily guided activities are included. For all other areas the price includes guided tours in English, meals where specified, entrance fees, transportation between hotels, transfers between airport and hotel, naturalist guides and taxes. Local airport taxes that are payable in the country of destination are not included. Taxes and security fees that can be paid at time of ticketing are already included.

Panama City- Gamboa Region

This morning, leave Panama City hotel and head towards the Gamboa region. The Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is located on the famous Pipeline road, one of the most renowned places in the world for bird watching. In fact, here was established a record number for a bird count organized in 1985 by the Audubon Society, when 385 species were identified in 24 hours. Together with the naturalist guide, drive to Gamboa and start walking on the pipeline road to get to the Rainforest Discovery Center. Start at the visitor center, observing up to 13 species of hummingbirds that are recorded in the special feeders. Continue on the trails observing birds of the undergrowth such as manakins, anteaters and trogons. Go up the 40-meter tower to contemplate birds in the canopy such as the famous blue cotinga and toucans, and visit the viewing platform by the lake to see aquatic birds like wattled jacanas, least grebes, herons and snail kites. As well as birds, travelers will be able to observe other animals like monkeys, crocodiles, coatis, and butterflies. Playon Chico Community

After breakfast, head to a small nearby island to snorkel and relax on the beach or take a hike through the rain forest to a picturesque waterfall. The hike is a great opportunity to see birds and animals of the rain forest. Return to the lodge to enjoy a big lunch overlooking the water. This afternoon, take a guided tour through the Playon Chico community. Learn about the culture and history of this community including how they were one of the leaders of the Dule Revolution in 1925. Bocos Town- Dolphin Bay

This morning after breakfast, walk a short distance to the JamPan office from the hotel. From here, begin today's adventure in Bocas Town with a short boat ride to Dolphin Bay to observe dolphins playing in their natural habitat. The mainland coast and the mountain regions of Panama serve as an exquisite background for photo opportunities. Then venture to Coral Cay for snorkeling (2 locations) and time for lunch at an over-the-water restaurant providing beautiful views of the archipelago islands of Bocas del Toro (lunch not included). After meeting at the JamPan office, begin the exploration of Bocas del Toro to Bird Island. On this short boat ride that will bring passengers to the island, observe a wide variety of marine life and birds that migrate to the region each year. Venture to Boca del Drago for swimming, snorkeling and lunch at a popular restaurant on the tip of Isla Colon (lunch not included). Yandup Lodge (Cabin Overwater)

Yandup is a paradise island surrounded by coral reefs. It has a little beach with calm and crystal clear water and miles of sand within walking distance. Yandup belongs to a small archipelago, where you can even go swimming from one island to the other, crossing channels of various depths. The island is located approximately in the center of the Kuna Yala reserve, a thousand meters from the Ukupseni community or Playon Chico and 1.300 meters from the tropical forest and the airport. The Lodge offers eight cabins built with local materials that Kuna Indians use in their homes. Five spacious cabins on the beach with private facilities, two oceanfront cabins with private bath, and one waterfront cabin with bathroom and showers outside the cabin.
