Mango Bay Resort is an independent resort that lies on Phu Quoc, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Initially a wild spot of secondary forest, with isolated cropping of mango and coconut trees and edged by untouched beach, development has sought to add rather than replace, so that guests may enjoy an experience far different from the multitude of cookie-cutter resorts that cover the region’s coasts. Mango Bay Resort was created with a passion for the environment, intelligent use of materials, and strong support for the island culture. Today, it is an unusually low density resort of 40 bungalows, spread along one kilometer of beach, amid twenty hectares of largely endemic forest and gardens. The food is great, the cocktails fresh, and the staff a joy.
