• Mendoza, Argentina, – March and April are fall in Argentina so the vines as well as the local Alamos trees change colors, the temperature will be cooler and nicer for exploring wineries on bike or foot. If your dates are flexible, try to time it with the Vendimia Festival (wine harvest festival), a week of parties, parades, and traditional celebrations takes place every March.

• Serengeti – Tanzania .Congregating in the Serengeti you will be fascinated seeing baby wildebeest calves and zebra foal. Unfortunately for the babies, only half will survive because the predators, lions, cheetah, hyenas, and leopards are at the highest number too here at this time stalking their prey. You may be able to see these predators face off
• Nepal – March is spring in Nepal and it will be less crowded than the peak season( October- November). Spring in Nepal, you can expect warm weather and beautiful flowers of spring including Nepal’s wonderful rhododendron blooms.
• The Monarch butterfly reserves of Michoacan, Mexico
Each year up to 1 billion Monarch butterflies migrate 2500 miles from Eastern Canada to this park in Mexico. The butterfly population is at its peak in January and February. In the end of February or Early March they have a weeklong cultural celebration which adds another level of intrigue to this wonderful experience called the Festival Cultural de la Mariposa Monarca. Try to go on a weekday to avoid peak crowds and book well in advance. The park is located in the highlands and the butterflies make their homes in the branches of the oak and evergreen trees 100 feet above the forest floor. To see them you will hike ( or horse ride) up a trail to the hillside to the observation point. If you are lucky a wind will blow through and you will see a burst of butterflies flying all at once.
• Patagonia – March is a great time to visit Patagonia, it is a bit easier to get arranged than December and January which are peak, it is early fall in Patagonia, a great time to kayak, hike, bike, horseback ride, and be active. The winds are less strong in the fall, the foliage, though different from the rest of the world is beautiful, also the animals venture out more at this time of year.
• Galapagos is a year around destination, March however does have some advantages. The snorkeling and diving visibility is best Jan – March and the water temperature is the highest at this time of year due to the intensity of the sun this time of year. Lots of nesting happens this time of year from Green Sea Turtles, Marine Iguanas, Frigate birds, Cormorants, Penguins, Greater Flamingoes, and the boobies, both red-footed and masked will be breeding and nesting this time of year.
• Belize is great most of the year except September and October which is hurricane season. March is great because it is sunny and warm, this is dry season, the whale sharks come at this time of year until June.
