Brazilian Government Waives Brazil Visa requirements for US Citizens
The Brazilian government recently announced that American, Canadian, Australian and Japanese citizens will have visa-free entry by June of this year.
Visitors who have a valid passport will no longer be required to apply and pay for a visa to enter Brazil, whether it be for business or leisurely travel. Visitors can enjoy up to 90 days exploring Brazil with possible extensions available, providing an ample amount of time to explore the vast Amazon Rainforest, surf the world-famous beaches, and venture the wetlands of Brazil’s Pantanal.
In efforts to increase the country’s foreign visits to 12million a year by 2020, Brazil has already implemented electronic visas which have reportedly increased visa application by over 35%. The new visa-free efforts should continue this upward trend.
“This is one of the most important achievements of the Brazilian tourism industry in the last 15 years and we are confident that it will be extremely beneficial to the country,” – Marcelo Alvaro Antônio, Minister of Tourism.
So, in other words, pack your bags, you’re going to Brazil!
