Colombian health officials declared the end of the Zika outbreak in the country on Monday. The virus has affected nearly 10,000 people since September 2015. Since then, the number of cases of Zika has been reduced to about 600 per week and the Ministry of Health in Bogota has declared the epidemic to be over. Although there are still cases present, the slowed rate at which it is spreading compared to earlier in the year is evidence that Colombia will continue to be less and less affected.
