Switzerland
Much known to foreigners as the land of chocolate, watches, and the massive Alps, Switzerland is a unique European destination with history-laden cities that never fail to impress, a culture devoted to sustainability, and breathtaking views incomparable to elsewhere in the world. With more than 60 percent of the country being covered by mountains and a quarter of it carpeted with lush forests, it is no wonder why the Swiss are champions of recycling and green transportation. Charming cities and towns full of culture and history are seamlessly connected by an environmentally sound travel network of hiking, biking, mountain biking, skating, and canoeing perfectly coordinated with trains, boats, and buses. Much like the never-ending views, the gastro experiences throughout Switzerland are as endless as the dishes are hardy. After a day of exploring the city and taking in the fresh air, treat yourself to a meal at a traditional Swiss inn with panoramic views of the Alps. Try your hand at alpine cheese making, become immersed in the world of chocolate, or learn to savor the flavors of local beers with brewery tours alongside an experienced sommelier. Nowhere else in the world are cultural sensations, pristine nature, innovative gastronomy, adventure and leisure activities in such close proximity to one another as in the Land of the Alps.
