Bethlehem is thought to be the birth place of Jesus. It has been referred to as “little town of Bethlehem” and is today a small city. Only 6 miles south of Jerusalem, Israel, Bethlehem is part of the West Bank. The city is home to one of the oldest churches in the world, the Church of the Nativity. Bethlehem is also thought to be the birthplace of David, the King of Israel. Currently the city is now home to one of the largest Arab Christian communities in the region.
