Tour Overview
Take a journey back in time to experience Ancient Egypt. Today in Egypt there are several monuments, still standing, that help define the story of Egyptian history. In Cairo, visit the Great Pyramids at Giza, the Egyptian Museum, and the Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar, the original crossroads and still operational trade center. From Luxor, depart on the three-night cruise down the Nile River aboard the Nile Goddess, a supreme Nile cruise ship, to Aswan. After spending each day fulfilled by excursions around famous ancient Egyptian sites, enjoy the variety of special services and facilities which gives the Sonesta Moon Goddess its incredible reputation, like their gym, their bar, and their dance floor. After spending time in Aswan, go to Abu Simbel to visit the most unique double temple in the world. This tour concludes with a flight to Sharm el Sheikh with a few days to relax on the beach.

Saturday- Tour of the Great Pyramids & the Egyptian Museum
This morning, embark on a full day tour that will lead to the great Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx, one of the great Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After that head over to the Egyptian Museum, home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts and antiquities in the world. From here, head to the Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar, which dates back to the year 1382, for a bit of bartering. Lunch is included.

In Alexandria, visit the National museum, the fort of Quaitbay (built on the original site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria and from the lighthouse ruins), the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa ( a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and other artifacts influenced by the Hellenistic and Roman funeral cult), the Pomey Piller and the Roman theatre. Finally walk in Montazah Gardens on the grounds of the Montazah Palace. Lunch is included. Evening return to Cairo.

These two incredible temple complexes were established in honor of Ra of Heliopolis, also known as the sun god Amon-Ra. With his consort Mut and his son Khonsu, he formed the Theban Triad for which the temples at Karnak and Luxor were built to honor. Enjoy an afternoon tea. In the evening, see a belly dance show before dinner.

Today enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of the Kings and the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut also served as a dedication to the sun god Amon-Ra, and was the first of its kind to depict the heritage of divinity of a female Pharoah. The Colossi of Memnon are two enormous moments to Pharoah Amenhotep III. After the tour, head back to the cruise ship to start the journey to Esna. On the way, enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy tea. Later this evening, enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party before dinner. After dinner, enjoy some dancing!

The journey to Esna continues. In the morning, enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, head out to visit the Edfu temple of Horus, the most completely preserved temple in Egypt. Enjoy lunch and being to sail to Kom ombo. Enjoy afternoon tea.
Head out to visit Kom Ombo temple. Kom Ombo is a unique double temple, with the southern half dedicated to the god of fertility and one of three creators of the world Sobek, and the northern half dedicated to Haroeris, the falcon god.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and then head to the galabeya party for some fun!

Enjoy breakfast before departing from the cruise ship. Transfer to the airport in Aswan for a flight to Abu Simbel.
Situated 280 kilometers south of Aswan, fly from Aswan to Abu Simbel to visit the two temples of Abu Simbel, known as the most magnificent temples in the world. The first temple was built by the Pharaoh Ramses II, and the second was built for his wife Queen Nefertari.
Return back to Aswan and relax. Overnight in Aswan.

Cairo
The word “Cairo” in Arabic means “the Vanquisher” or “the Conqueror”, understandable when one realizes that it has been a major center of civilization and a cultural crossroads for millennia. One of the largest and most densely populated cities in Africa and the middle east, Cairo is the capital of Egypt. Cairo is most often associated with ancient Egypt due to its close quarters with the ancient ruins of the cities Giza, Memphis, and Fustat. Here is where one can witness the magnificence of the Pyramids of Giza as well as the great Sphynx. Take in the history and local culture with some coffee while enjoying sheesha (flavored tobacco through a water pipe) and appreciating the desert heat.

The city is home to many historical sites such as the Citadel of Qaitbay, Roman Theater, and the cemetery of Mostafa Kamel.

One of the hottest cities in Egypt, Aswan sits on the southern end of the Nile River. This ancient city has many places of interest for history buffs as well as fun cultural experiences. Visit the unfinished and largest known Obelisk. If finished the massive piece would weigh nearly 1200 tons! Enjoy camel rides and learn about the area’s culture while drinking tea with the locals.

Abu Simbel
A village south of the large city of Aswan, Abu Simbel is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Abu Simbel is known for its two breathtaking temples. These temples are known as some of the most magnificent temples in the world. The temples date back to the 13th-century BC. The first temple was built by the Pharaoh Ramses II, and the second was built for his wife Queen Nefertari. Their original location in now underwater, but the temples were successfully transported to their new location in 1960s.

With its prime location, watersports, especially scuba diving, have become the pastime of this Egyptian city.
