Tour Overview
From watching 900-pound Grizzly bears as they feast on migrating salmon to witnessing the massive size of moose rising 7 feet tall, to walking on glaciers as old as 30,000 years, there’s nothing quite like An Alaskan Adventure. Home to 17 of the largest mountains in the U.S. and some of the most isolated communities in the country, Alaska is well-known for its pristine wildlife, spanning hundreds of thousands of miles. Referred to as the last frontier, Alaska’s sheer size makes it nearly impossible to see all it has to offer, but nature lovers and adventure seekers alike flock to its rugged terrain to experience all that they can.
Divided into 5 distinct regions, Southcentral Alaska is perhaps the most well-known as it is home to more than half of the state’s small population and is one of the most accessible of the regions. A playground of activities, Southcentral Alaska offers world-class fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing with mountains and lakes. Offering both remote wilderness and the comfortable amenities travelers seek, southcentral Alaska is the perfect gateway to experiencing the essence of Alaska.
Yampu Travelers will experience Alaska’s remarkable solitude beginning with a flight aboard a seaplane to remote reaches for a once in a lifetime experience of watching massive grizzly bears in their natural habitat. After an entire day of bear viewing, the Alaska Adventure continues aboard the Coastal Classic Train to Seward, featuring glass-domed ceilings for an unparalleled viewing of the terrain. Once in Seward, located within the Kenai Peninsula, explorers will take to the coastline to learn of the region’s unique landscape while kayaking along the rugged shoreline. After a day of learning more about Alaska’s landscape and unique wildlife, the tour is capped off with an unforgettable Glacier Flightseeing tour far into the Chugach backcountry.

Early this morning, make your way to the Adventure Centre at the Seward Boat Harbour to meet your Sunny Cove Kayaking guides who will escort you to our private charter, the Ascension to meet Captain’s Josh or Mike and Deckhand Hallie before getting underway. Our boat is fast, and we typically arrive at our destination before any of the larger tour boats arrive. That means we often have the entire area to ourselves while kayaking! After the 55-mile trip around the Cape into Aialik Bay we will reach our launch beach. Once on shore we'll spend about a half hour getting you outfitted and running through basic kayaking instruction.
After your instructions, we'll have approximately 3 hours (3-5 miles) of kayaking along the rugged shoreline. Along the way, we'll take breaks to immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds and sensations of floating near an actively calving tidewater glacier. Following our kayaking tour, we'll re-board our private charter vessel to seek out whales, sea lions, seals, puffins, killer whales and more for a few hours as we cruise back to Seward. Having a fast, private charter boat means we have lots of time to search for wildlife after we wrap up kayaking. Our typical return time to Seward is 4:30p - 5:00p but is dependent upon wildlife viewing, weather conditions and boat speed. The tour includes all gear necessary for kayaking and, also includes a picnic lunch, morning & afternoon snacks. ...read less

Best customer care & itineraries
I am recently returned from my third trip organised by Yampu, this time to Costa Rica. As always, it was fabulous from start to finish!
I do look around initially when planning my holidays but each time Karolina offers the best customer care & arranges by far the best itineraries. Value for money is excellent & they keep in constant contact before during & afterwards to make sure everything is going well.
The standard of accommodation & guides they use is superb & they actually listen to your requests as opposed to copying a generic page from their website…. Do I highly recommend Karolina & Yampu? YES! Will I use them again? YES! Save time & effort & just use Yampu is my travel tip 🙂

Everything went very smoothly on our private tour
Everything went very smoothly on our private tour, many thanks. We were able to see many different regions and aspects of Mexico making it a simply fascinating experience. We had a great time in Mexico City and Taxko (sadly Puebla was flooded and had to be taken out of the itinerary), and were able to take in the Aztek culture and Spanish colonial architecture. Then in the north, Copper Canyon (bigger than the Grand Canyon in the US) and the amazing train journey. The trip at the end to Baja California we managed to see the grey whales and the Yucatan and beautiful Maya ruins. The exposure to these very different areas in a short time made this a truly memorable journey.
