Tour Overview
Get in touch with Mother Nature with Yampu’s Argentina Wildlife Tour through Wetlands and Waterfalls! Enjoy this nature tour beginning with the Ibera Estuary, the second largest wetlands in South America and home to several endangered species and over 350 bird species. The region is rich in biodiversity and demonstrates the beauty of a balanced ecosystem. Also in the area is the UNESCO named World Heritage Site of San Ignacio Ruins, a settlement of converted Guarani founded by the Jesuits. This tour will visit Iguazu Falls and Iguazu Falls National Park located on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The National Park is full of exotic subtropical vegetation which surrounds the falls with abundant local flora and fauna. No Argentina trip is complete without a stay in Buenos Aires.
We will begin with three days in Buenos Aires, the cosmopolitan capital city of Argentina, see a tango and visit an estancia. The Iguazu Falls and National Park are located 10 miles from Puerto Iguazu. The deep- flowing waters of the river fall from a height of 30 feet through 275 falls over one and a half mile. The frontier with Brazil goes through the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat) where the falling water gives the illusion of magic rainbows. The National Park is full of the exotic subtropical vegetation which surrounds the falls and has 2,000 plant species – gigantic trees, ferns, lianas, orchids; 400 bird species – parrots, colibries, toucans; jaguars and yacarés (caimans).
The Ibera Estuary, the largest wetland in Argentina, whose name comes from the Guarani “y bera,” meaning bright water, covers an area of more than 15,000 square kilometers. A unique, pristine landscape full of marshes and savannahs, it is also home to many fascinating species such as two Argentine alligators, the howler monkey, neotropical river otter, the Capybara (the world’s largest rodent) and the Marsh Deer. Situated among the Parana, Paraguay and Uruguay Rivers, the Ibera Estuary provides visitors with an experience unlike most tourist destinations.

I had a fantastic time
Here is my feedback and my overall impressions of the trip. I had a fantastic time! Everything was very well planned (that includes excursions, transfers, accommodation, and reservations), I enjoyed the right amount of assistance and privacy at the same time. The tango show was amazing and thanks for suggesting it; the Perito Moreno glacier was impressive; Tierra del Fuego Park beautiful- half day tour was exactly what we wanted. In Mendoza, wine tour was interesting and the wineries were beautiful and very different from each other (good to have variety). The Aconcagua excursion was worthy. Although 2-3 h drive to get there, the scenery is beautiful with lots of fresh air.
