Tajikistan
Simply calling Tajikistan “mountainous” truly dismisses the astounding landscape of the country. With more than 90% of the area being upland, locals have adapted to the harsh conditions of the region high above their neighbors, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. While Tajikistan’s snowcapped peaks call adventurers to their summits, the hospitality of the locals will be sure to keep them warm no matter the season.
