International Flight into Belize City.
Welcome to Belize and an incredible, action packed adventure that is sure to provide some amazing, once in a lifetime memories! Transfer from Belize City to the selected hotel in San Ignacio, stopping at the Belize Zoo on the way!
The Belize Zoo was started in 1983, as a last ditch effort to provide a home for a collection of wild animals which had been used in making documentary films about tropical forests. Shortly after the backyard "zoo" began, it was quickly realized that its Belizean visitors were unfamiliar with the different species of wildlife which shared their country. This very aspect fomented the commitment to develop the little zoo into a dynamic wildlife education center. Today, The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center is settled upon 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 170 animals, representing over 45 species, all native to Belize. The Zoo keeps animals which were orphaned, rescued, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals, or sent to The Belize Zoo as donations from other zoological institutions. It's a great stop off location at the beginning of the trip to get a feel for the animals native to Belize.

Look forward to having more adventures through Yampu in the future!
The trip (to Belize), even with the rain, was amazing! Thank you & Yampu so much! There were a few things we were unable to visit/do due to the flooding (like the cave tubing & zip line) however, our guide (Lasalle, not certain of spelling), was wonderful. He was not only knowledgeable & wise; he was so personable as well. He knew the lay of the land well enough not to put us in any danger of the flooding, etc. AND where to get the best price on local goods. Also got to meet his wife, Sarita, who was a wealth of information. The Windy Hills resort was welcoming & everyone made us feel like part of their family, not to mention the clean conditions and excellent food. Smokey, a gentleman of many trades and reassured us that the rainy conditions in Belize were referred to as together weather which made perfect sense to us.When we moved on to Ramon’s Village, again, the lodging was comfortable, clean, and cozy even without TV it was wonderful. The ONLY thing that could’ve made the trip any better was more sunshine. However, we even enjoyed the rain (no worries). Thank you, especially, and everyone at Yampu for making our 30th anniversary in Belize so memorable. All arrangements were made to order. Look forward to having more adventures through Yampu in the future!

Your office did an excellent job of showing us the country
I just returned from my trip to Belize with my daughter and wanted to report that it was spectacular. Your office did an excellent job of showing us the country. They were prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. We had lovely accommodations and saw a lot of the variety that Belize has to offer. Lascelle was our guide for most of the time on the mainland and I know we would have missed a lot without him. When he took us to specific trails, however, he turned us over to the local guides who were also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their specific area. The excellent care continued once we were on Ambergris Caye. We only had one scheduled adventure out there. We went snorkeling in a marine preserve and our guide was again very good at spotting the various sea creatures and in identifying them. I was also very impressed with the concern all the guides had with the care of their local ecology/ environment. One member of our snorkeling group was abusing the coral and our guide chewed him out and actually threatened to make him go back onto the boat if he did not follow the rules. I hope all the guides are as concerned as he was.All our flights were fine and the entire trip was beyond my expectations. I wanted to thank you and your staff and your Belize office for doing such an excellent job. I will definitely be on your website when I start planning my next trip!
