Morning transfer to the airport to take the flight to Mendoza. Upon arrival in Mendoza, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a private tour and get to know the history and culture of the city of Mendoza, founded by Spanish colonists more than four centuries ago. Go through its tree-lined avenues and its streets bordered by “acequias” (irrigation ditches) and visit the most important sites in the city. Return to the hotel.

Depart to visit some wineries in the region. Visit established wineries such as Fabre Mont Mayou. Stop and visit the Lagarde winery and enjoy the beautiful sight of rows of grape vines. Also visit the thermoelectric power plant, Ingoniero Cipolletti dam, the University of Agricultural Sciences, and La Carrodilla Church.

Transfer to the bus station to take the bus to Santiago de Chile, passing through beautiful scenic landscapes and amazing views of the Aconcagua. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.

A journey through the main streets of the civic center of Santiago, viewing the neoclassical Moneda Palace, built in the 18th century and current seat of government, the Plaza de Armas, or main square with its cathedral, the Museum of National History and the Central Post Office, all with very different architectural styles. Continue to the Parque Forestal, based on the Champs d’ Elysee in Paris, the Fine Arts Museum and the Santa Lucia Hill where the city was founded in 1541. Continue to the bohemian area of Bellavista and climb the San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view of the city with the Andes Mountains in the background. Full-day guided excursion to the wine route of the Colchagua Valley. Depart from Santiago along the Pan-American Highway toward Colchagua, a fertile valley known for its boutique wineries. The journey takes approximately two hours. Upon arrival at the village of Santa Cruz, the visits will be coordinated and travelers will depart to visit the wineries. Options include Vina Casa Silva, Estampa, Jacques & Francois Lurton, Laura Hartwig, Montes, Mont Gras, Viu Manent or Vina Bisquertt. As different wineries are open on different days, the choice will depend on the day of the tour. A full visit to the wineries with a wine tasting is included. Following the visits, lunch is included at the Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza or a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit a third winery or the Colchagua Museum, which houses one of the most important private collections of pre-Hispanic art in Chile, as well as an important display of artifacts from the Chilean colonial period. Following the last visit, return to Santiago—traveling once again through the fruit and vegetable producing areas of the central valley.
