Welcome to Havana

Upon arrival in Havana, a Yampu representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel for check-in.

Visit Dona Eutimia for lunch (cost not included), which is known for the best traditional and nouveau Cuban criolla cuisine in Havana. Private Sunset Car Tour With Mojito at Nacional Hotel & Dinner At sunset, you will get picked up by vintage car for a ride around town through the posh neighborhoods of Vedado and Miramar, stopping by the new US Embassy, and ending at your restaurant for dinner. During this tour, you will be able to stop at the Nacional Hotel for a mojito. The Hotel Nacional de Cuba is considered a symbol of history, culture and Cuban identity. With its privileged location in the middle of Vedado, the center of Havana, it stands on a hill just a few meters from the sea, and offers a great view of the Havana Harbor; the seawall and the city.

Tonight, Dinner will be at La Guarida, a private paladar restaurant and the setting for Fresa y Chocolate, the Oscar nomination for best foreign film in 1994. Once known as the Mansion Camaguey, you can clearly see the former grandeur of this humongous Central Havana residence. Make sure you visit the roof-top lounge to appreciate the sheer size of this Cuban structure and take in the rugged, urban cityscape. A paladar is a restaurant that is operated out of a private home. Some paladares have been in business for over 20 years, and their owners/chefs have trained in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Paladares are now the dining venues of choice for travelers to Cuba due to their amazing food and stylish deco. Cuisine is often unbelievably delicious using fresh farm-to-table produce from local ecofarms, local wild caught seafood, and a fusion of Cuban and international flavors such as Italian and French. We have handpicked only the best paladares with a strong focus on top gastronomy found around Cuba.

Evening Activity: Enjoy an evening of live Cuban jazz at the famous La Zorra y el Cuervo ("the fox and the crow" underground jazz bar, one of Havana's favorite jazz clubs. Performers change nightly.

After the evening activity, transfer back to your hotel for your overnight stay. ...read less
