Tour Overview
Enjoy “Cycling China” with the help of Yampu Tours! Once revered as the “Kingdom of Bicycles” China has had a long and interesting history with the self-sufficient vehicles. Before the people of China had an easier access to motorized vehicles, bicycles were known as one of the essential luxury’s each household desired. To avoid the once complicated public transportation, locals would get from place to place along the wide biking roads where parking was plentiful, and bicycles had the right of way. Although motor vehicle transportation is now more accessible, one will be able to absorb all that this marvelous country has to offer through its extensive biking selection. See the assortments of bikes with their own distinct uses and eccentric decorations while exploring cities and villages from Beijing to Yangshuo. Ride along the Great Wall while passing fruitful gardens and quaint villages. Cycle through Xingping’s Karst landscape, and explore around the village of Yangshuo while bamboo rafting on the Yulong river. See local people farming and visit a local family’s house to learn to cook local specialties. There is no better way to explore China than by leisurely riding past locals and monuments with this fun and environmentally friendly method of transportation.

Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, be met by the guide and be driven to the hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, one can choose to pay a visit to Jingshan Park, Jingshan literally means Prospect Hill. The hill inside the park is "Coal Hill", which is directly facing the back side of the Forbidden City. Walk to the top of the Coal Hill for a bird's eye view of the Forbidden City. The day starts from the center of Beijing at Tiananmen Square, to experience Beijing in a more modest local way. Cycle in the city's traditional neighborhoods, Hutongs, along the narrow alleys in old Beijing, to see the Ancient Residential Area, Drum Tower and Bell Tower. Stop at local artists homes to learn Chinese handicrafts.

Finish at the local village, then either mingle with the residents or hike along the west wing of Huanhuacheng Great Wall in the late afternoon. Stay overnight in the village.

This morning, cycle from Xinping to Yangshuo (approximately 45 km) en route, stop at a small town, famous for its fan-making. It is an opportunity to make a fan! Arrive at Yangshuo in the afternoon to explore around the village and enjoy some bamboo rafting on the Yulong river. See local people farming and visit a local family's house to learn to cook local specialty "beer fish" and have dinner with them. After dinner, walk to the riverside and watch cormorant fishing on a private boat on the Li River. The cormorant is a type of bird that has traditionally been trained in Guilin to catch fish in the river. “Very impressed with China and learned a lot! We loved our experience in Tibet. The people are lovely and scenery magnificent. We had very accommodating and thoughtful guides. Very helpful.”
Flights in China were great and no delays, hotels were awesome, guides were wonderful, tours were perfect and even the train worked out. The 8th person on the train was a young Tibetan woman and they felt safe with her in the compartment.
