Explore one of China’s greatest relics with Yampu’s Great Wall Trekking Exploration! Often referred to as the Earth Dragon due to its geographic formation sweeping the crests along the Chinese landscape , The Great Wall is the epitome of China’s saturated history and culture. More than just a single structure, the Great Wall in fact consists of many separate sections, from the most tourist parts to sections known as the ‘Wild Great Wall’ that offer un-spoilt vistas and excellent hiking. Take the chance to climb those less visited parts of the Wall and by taking one’s own time to hike and live along its length, what better way to get to grips with this symbol of China?
Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China, and be met by a local guide and transfer to the hotel. The first full day in China, enjoy the city of Beijing. Walk Tian’anmen Square to the Forbidden City. Next, explore the city’s traditional neighborhoods and the narrow alleys in old Beijing. Get up early the next day and join the locals for morning exercises in the Temple of Heaven Park. That afternoon, drive to Huanghuacheng and start the Great Wall exploration!
During this exciting, week long adventure, pass through local villages to learn about the people and how the wall is famous for its strong military function. Stop by Eastern Qing Tombs, among the finest and largest extant Mausoleum complexes in China. Visit one of the biggest and most elaborate tombs. After a relaxing morning, head back to Beijing city. En route, visit the Summer Palace. It is now open as a public park and is one of the most impressive places to visit in Beijing. The focus of the Summer Palace is a huge lake with a long walkway circling it. Once in Beijing, transfer to the hotel to rest up before the transfer to the airport to catch the flight home.

Arrival in Beijing with Jingshan Park
Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, be met by a local guide and transfer to the hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, choose to pay a visit to Jingshan Park, Jingshan literally means Prospect Hill. The hill inside the park is Coal Hill, which is directly facing the back of Forbidden City. Walk to the top of the Coal Hill for a bird's eye view of the Forbidden City. If this is a cloudless day at sunset, one will definitely be able to snap the best photo.

Early in the morning join the locals for exercise in the Temple of Heaven Park. In the park, watch various activities i.e. Taiji, ribbon dance, sword dance, water calligraphy. Afterwards visit the Temple of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven, it is the prayer palace for good weather and bountiful harvests by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Begin at the foot of Jiankou Great Wall, first climb up a small hill before getting on to the main tower - Zhengbei Tower. Then, hike towards Mutianyu Great Wall, built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), on the remnants of a Wall originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). The trail is a mixture of rock steps and filled with bushes in some section. Say goodbye to the local family and start the hike along the hill, back to the Wall. Gubeikou and Jinshanling Great Wall are connected with the Jinshanling Wall situated on the Big and Small Jinshanling, hence its name. Based on huge stone bars, the Wall was then made by huge bricks, each of which weighed about 12 kilograms (26 pounds). It has five main passes and 67 watchtowers. Every 100 meters (328 feet), there is an enemy tower each of which is about ten meters (33 feet) high. Today enjoy a relaxing morning before heading back to Beijing city. En route, visit the Summer Palace, constructed as a place of rest and recreation for the emperors of old. It is now open as a public park and is one of the most impressive places to visit in Beijing. The focus of the Summer Palace is a huge lake with a long walkway circling it. Built on one end is a series of towers, halls and temples climbing the hillside. From the buildings towards the top of the hill one can see the entire lake and its surroundings. The park is accented by many small architectural features such as the beautiful 17 arch bridge, which leads to a small island, and the pagoda on the hill of the far shore.
