Tour of Kathmandu City

Enjoy a guided tour of Kathmandu City beginning with Swayambhunath, a 2000 year-old buddhist stupa (popularly known as the monkey temple) and is the most profound Buddhist symbol in Nepal, possibly in the world. The temple is situated on a hill with a sweeping view of Kathmandu valley. Patan, the city of beauty & fine arts, was once a powerful and independent kingdom. It still maintains its distinct identity as a quiet, Buddhist City, however. It remains home to many talented artisans who produce a lot of Nepal's fine metalwork. Beautifully decorated Patan Durbar Square, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Mahaboudha Temple, Machhendranath Temple, and Mangal Bazaar are some of the main highlights to visit. Patan handicraft center is a great place to buy Nepalese Handicrafts including carpets, jewelries, paintings, metal statues, and woodcarvings. The temple of Pashupatinath is Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and is the enclave of exotic temples, shiv lingams, cremation ghats, ritual bathers, and half-naked sadhus. The temple dates back to 200 yrs BC. ...read less

Pokhara - Kathmandu

At the appropriate time be met at the hotel to transfer to the local airport for the flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu

After being met at the airport and transferring to the hotel, enjoy a Half Day Ason, Indrachowk, and Thamel Walking Tour.

Ason and Indrachowk are the colorful and probably the most crowded streets/crossroads of the old part of Kathmandu. They are the perfect example of what life is like here in Kathmandu. Thamel is the center of attractions for shoppers, food & drink lovers, and backpackers alike. Thamel is best described using the 5C's- crazy, cool, colorful, crowded, and captivating. One simply cannot visit Nepal without going to Thamel, one’s trip will not be complete without this important stop. Thamel has narrow streets, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, and much more that will be sure to please everyone!

It was absolutely delightful

I just wanted to thank you for the lovely dinner Kings Lodge set up for us this evening. My brother said it both made the birthday and the vacation special. It was absolutely delightful and, much as every place on this trip so far as been above and beyond our expectations, I don’t think any place so far could have had such a unique, delightful way of doing it.
