Tour Overview
Combine the best safari destinations in Tanzania (Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti), with a relaxing beach retreat on the Kenyan coast. This tour is certain to offer you the best natural highlights of southern Africa.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Arusha to spend the night. The following day, you will begin the safari circuit in Tarangire National Park. The park’s 2,850 square kilometers is home to many wetland areas and is especially known for large herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees. In addition to its variety of classic African animals, the park also offers a unique insight into the Maasai culture and way of life.
After two nights in Tarangire, the next two nights will be spent at the Ngorongoro Crater, a large, un-flooded volcanic caldera which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself millions of years ago. Within the crater’s rim are plains teeming with herds of animals, while the surrounding highlands offer views that are out of this world.
Next, you will spend the remaining four nights in the Serengeti, easily the country’s most renowned park and also the largest. Its far reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acaicia tree have made it the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa. It is also home to the annual wildebeest migration, where more then a million animals make the seasonal journey into the plains.
Finally, if you’re looking to get away from it all, the South Kenyan Coast is your answer. Tourism on the South Coast principally centers on Diani, an exclusive, 15-mile long beach surrounded by coral islands, coves, well-developed beach towns, unspoiled marine reserves and good nightlife. Together, Diani and the South Coast seem to have it all, whether you’re looking to play golf; snorkel in a coral garden; tour a 16th-century, Portuguese fort; explore Arabic ruins; check out a local, Swahili village; try your hand at kite surfing; or just soak in the sun on the beach.

The trip you set up for me was flawless.
The trip you set up for me was flawless. The guide met all my expectations. He was helpful and protective. I did learn that in Africa, time is a relative thing. I soon learned that when James told me we were one half hour from anywhere, I could count on an hour. I saw every major animal, but one, including the Black Rino, one of the most endangers specie in the Crater. I took 900 pictures. I can tell you without a doubt, that your people can take care of a person my age and should promote that fact. I loved Nxabega. However, I was prevented from going to my tent for a rest when a family of Elephants started eating the trees between the lunch area and my tent. They were all first rate camps, but Sopa was exceptional. If you wish me to fill out anything, let me know. One funny story. I needed to go to the bathroom. James asked me to wait while he drove about a half a mile to high ground, so he could watch out for animals while I attended to the problem behind his 4×4. As we get to about fifty yards from the place we planned to stop; three lions walked over the hill and past our vehicle. You would be surprised how fast the urge to go disappears under these circumstances.
