Tour Overview
Find monkeys galore in Yampu’s Monkey Tour of Indonesia which takes you to Bali and Kalimantan, two distinct islands, each with their own spectacular attractions. Leaving Bali, visit Kalimantan on the Indonesian side of Borneo with lush tropical forests and diverse flora and fauna. Enjoy a cruise atop a local “Klotok” and visit Rehabilitation Centers and Sanctuaries helping to preserve the endangered population of local orangutans.
On Bali, take a short journey to Pura Kehen, a temple constructed in the 13th century. Once you step through the Kori Agung, an ornate gateway, you’ll notice elephant sculptures, which is intriguing for a relic considering elephants were not native to Bali. The inner compound is guarded by a ‘Naga,’ or dragon, which has a mystical stone inside. The stone is said to have glowed red hot once the site of the temple had been decided. From here, you will travel to Kintamani to have lunch overlooking volcanic Mount Batur and Lake Batur in its crater.
Spend a few nights onboard your boat in Kalimantan, and find yourself surrounded by nothing but the night sky and the jungle. The fauna rich journey upriver is a perfect introduction to the up close and personal interactions you’ll experience at Tanjung Harapan Orangutan Rehabilitation Center and Camp Leakey Orangutan Foundation. Spend the boat ride spotting gibbons, macaques, long nosed proboscis monkeys and wild female orangutans building their nests in the trees lining the river. Upon arrival in Tanjung Harapan you’ll have the opportunity to witness the rehabilitation of adolescent orphaned orangutans. Continuing onto Camp Leakey, an institution that can boast the rehabilitation of hundreds of orangutans during their 40 year history, provides the chance to interact with the protected primates. Guided tours into the jungle and then in Tanjung Puting National Park expand the river journey sightseeing into an immersive wildlife experience.

This morning, a warm welcome awaits at a Balinese home, where a traditional breakfast will be served with Balinese coffee or tea. Walk through the local farms to experience the real life of Balinese farmers working in the rice fields. Our SE Asia trip was awesome.
Our SE Asia trip was awesome. It would take too long to go into even the highlights of the trip, because there were so many. Your people on the ground in Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong were terrific but the Kuala Lampur guy not so much. Best/highest kudos go to Sylvie in Bangkok who we feel went the extra mile to not only host us and show us around, but to take care of us like a mum on tours and events and even on our days of leisure. Our guy in Singapore and Christina in Hong Kong were merely excellent. The hotels were wonderful but we would stay at the Marina Bay Hotel in Singapore next time. What an awesome place that is. We have over 700 photos and a hundred stories about our experiences in these exotic lands.Thank you so much and your people and your colleagues for making this such a memorable trip for us.

Everything met, or exceeded our expectations!
We did not know what to expect with our trip to Vietnam, but everything met, or exceeded our expectations! The guides were both excellent, and added their own local perspective to the areas we explored. All of the included meals were excellent, and exceeded our expectations!

I will always remember this trip
We have had opportunities to review our photos and share stories with family and friends, I will always remember this trip! Bangkok hotel and tour guide was fabulous. As soon as we got to the hotel they upgraded all of us to unbelievably fantastic rooms! Our guide met us at the airport and between her and the driver all went so smoothly. Due to the protest and closed streets, our guide helped us around the city using public transportation (upon our request), so no sight was unseen. The guide treated us as friends, sharing the local market place food and making sure we were safe at all times. Chiang Mai was great. Our hotel was in a perfect location. The hotel staff, food, and our guide were excellent. In Siem Reap, the hotel and surprise birthday celebration was fantastic, great location and fantastic staff! The guide and driver were kind, knowledgeable, accommodating and very flexible! Magical is a good word for Koh Samui. The hotel was perfect and would highly recommend it. I saw a few children, but not a place I would suggest for family with young kids. I must say that our guide showed us incredible places on the island that were not on the planned itinerary and that was beautiful. This guide had such a love for Koh Samui, which was a big plus! This guide saw we loved nature and added some unique experiences for us, like climbing a fantastic waterfall. In most of the locations the included lunches were not very good and in some cases bad. Maybe people should be given a chance on tour packages to upgrade to more of a local experience not a place all the tour buses go to. The first meal in Cambodia was fine but it went downhill fast from that one.I am so grateful for the chance to get check one place off my bucket list, Angkor Wat. Seeing Angkor Wat at sunrise completed one of my dreams.
