O’Higgins Region
Proudly named after one of Chile’s founding fathers, it is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and is an important province to Chile’s economy as much mining is found and done from this very region of the country. It’s greatest city is Rancagua which as of late has become more of an outskirt of Chile’s capital, Santiago. Although much mining is done in this province, many vineyards thrive here as well, most of which are closer to the coast.
