Full day of Whale Watching

After breakfast, embark on a full day guided whale watching tour. The first stop is at the Old Harbor Museum, which was proclaimed a museum in 1972; it used to provide a rocky, but safe, shelter for the small fishing boats whose owners were drawn to Hermanus. Enjoy lunch in Hermanus while watching the whales in the bay, and then visit a local vineyard for wine tasting before taking a scenic drive to Kleinmond for a visit to the Harold Porter Botanical Garden. Situated in the centre of the coastal fynbos, where the flora is at its richest, the garden encompasses mountain slopes, deep gorges with derelict forests as well as dunes adjacent to the beach with their salt-adapted plants. Whales are seasonal and usually can be spotted between June and November. That doesn't mean that Hermanus isn't a fantastic destination during the summer months though; it has beautiful beaches and wonderful scenery. ...read less

Can’t think of a single thing we didn’t love about the whole experience

Can’t think of a single thing we didn’t love about the whole experience. From the phone conversations with Yampu to the representatives who met us at each airport and hotel everyone was great. And the properties they set us up with?! Amazing! Their own websites didn’t do them justice. Every day was better than the day before so every day you saw me was the best day of my life.

We had an amazing time

Africa exceeded every expectation that we had. The weather was outstanding, the food was good. The guides (with the exception of Johannesburg) were great. I only wound up taking 687 pictures. I’m now trying to get these into my computer and into a file that I can send to my friends. They all want to see what we experienced. I have mentioned Yampu several times to friends, telling them how pleased we were with your services. We won’t hesitate to recommend you and Yampu in the future. Thanks for playing such a great role in making this a most unforgettable vacation.

It is difficult to put into words how much we enjoyed our holiday

It is difficult to put into words how much we enjoyed our holiday. We were both a little nervous having heard a number of negative reports about potential problems in South Africa, but we never felt ill at ease, and the people we met were all extremely friendly and helpful. The scenery is breathtaking, and we both want to go back and explore some more. Thank you again for organizing another fantastic holiday for us!
